Data analysis, modeling and software development in my research projects.

I work on data analysis for regional care-demand forecasts in Schleswig-Holstein, intended to support municipal and state planning.

I worked on extending a shared schema for describing empirical research to cover machine learning and databases. This work led to the paper on A-Posteriori Joint Schema Expansion.

I applied data-science methods to data from other disciplines, working with researchers in electrical engineering and physics.

I developed a controllable force–displacement data generator and the modeling workflow for tool optimization, including explainability analysis and checks against simulations.

I investigated ship routing that accounts for collision risk and developed the spatial data management needed for it.
I analyze data, develop models, and implement the methods in software. My focus is on spatial and spatiotemporal data and machine learning. I am interested in modeling relationships between location, time, and movement, including when datasets are incomplete or structured differently.
In maritime route planning, I investigated how the movement of other vessels can inform collision-risk assessment and route selection. In manufacturing, I developed a controllable generator for synthetic force–displacement curves and the workflow for a surrogate model for tool optimization. This included explainability analysis and evaluating proposed solutions through simulations.
Other areas of my work include research data management and data analysis for regional care-demand forecasts. I contributed to a shared schema for describing empirical research in computer science and applied data-science methods to questions in electrical engineering and physics. Collaboration with researchers from other disciplines is a common thread across these projects.
